A writ or warrant of execution is a legal document that is typically prepared by attorneys and issued by the Magistrate’s Court or the registrar of the Supreme Court. It can only be issued after a judgment has been granted by the court, and if the debtor does not willingly comply with the judgment. The document instructs the Sheriff of the Court to seize and sell the debtor’s property to satisfy the judgment debt amount. Once the warrant of execution has been successfully executed, the attached property will be sold on public auction, after the auction has been advertised appropriately.
